Kevin phillips

senior pastor

Kevin was raised in the Methodist church. The first church his family belonged to was St. James Methodist Church in El Paso, Texas. After moving to Sanderson, Texas, he was brought up in First Methodist Church of Sanderson. It was there that he went through Confirmation Class, and baptized. He didn’t become born again until much later however. Late one Saturday night into early that next Sunday morning during August of 1981, Kevin had an encounter with the Lord in which he gave his life over to Jesus and was born again. He returned to Sul Ross to finish his University education, which he had started years before but had been interrupted. He studied theater with the intention of going to Hollywood to become an actor, writer and director in the movie industry. Shortly before graduating however, he answered the call to enter the ordained ministry. Instead of heading west to California, he went east toKentucky and to Asbury Seminary. There he met his future wife Nancy Willard. They were married on January 5, 1985 and have two children, Rose and Patrick. Pastor Kevin has been in the ministry for 32 years and has served several churches in the new Mexico and northwest Texas Annual Conferences.
